Paddy Field Pipit (Anthus rufulus)

17 February 2008

Vedan Thangal Bird Sanctuary, Near Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS and 1.4xII on Canon 1D Mark III
ISO 200, 1/800 @ f8, Manual Exposure using Sekonic L308s Lightmeter

I laid down in the paddy field waiting for these birds to approach me. That's one thing about the ground birds. You wait and they will come to you. I have photographed most of the ground birds and the waders like this. The eye level gives a different perspective with a nice background.
